Almost two weeks ago we hosted our first Foster Seminar....Im excited to say that today, a new intake named Chubz McClanahan (a one year old male Shih-Tzu) is getting his second chance thanks to an attendee of the seminar who came to learn, went home, filled out the application...was approved, and stepped up to the plate when this guy needed a place to go!!!!! Thank you so much Rachel, I know you wanted to start with a temp foster, which I strongly encouraged you to do....but this guy needed someone and you were willing!!! Obviously Rachel is new to fostering, she also currently no longer has any dogs, so it is even more important that we, as a rescue, be able to provide her with all of the supplies needed for foster care. The second picture shows what all of your generous donations go towards. Because those of you who cant foster or are long distance fans and want to help so much that you choose to make donations of new supplies from our Amazon Wish List, drop off gently used items at our various drop off locations locally, or donate monetarily for our purchases of food and preventatives....we can provide each dog in our program with everything that they need in their foster homes. Chubz McClanahan is going to foster care today with a crate, crate pad, bed, excellent food, and a bag (also donated!!!) filled with toys, bowls, treats, chews, shampoo, preventative, leash, harness, and a collar!!!! The crate was donated gently used and it has housed many a rescue, the bed has been washed and recirculated so many times it must have more love and comfort in it than most teddy bears....many of these items donated because they simply werent being used or once belonged to a lucky dog whose owner treats it to a new bed every few months...and often, donated by families whose beloved pet has passed away and they want to give back in honor of that pet...either way, these gently used items seem to be filled with something special that is comforting to a dog coming in out of the shelter or off the streets. The point is this......everyone helps however they can, whether its fostering, transporting, sharing, donating gently used items or donating monetarily....doesnt matter and not one single act is more important than the other because if it werent for all of these acts coming together, it just simply couldnt happen!!!! So, basically, congratulations to EVERYONE for making this intake possible!!!!!!
