Almsfood is the main support to the monks since Buddhas period,Buddha taught his disciples to teaching the givers as well help them to accumulate the merits by receiving their offerings. there are so many virtues and moralities involved with alms in Buddhas teaching. but the meaningfulness of alms are neglected by the monks currently with just applying the results of receiving, whats be received? how to receive more and better? when the monks become the professional receivers, who operate different skills to receive the respect and goods from the donors with desire, meanwhile without any appreciation and responsibilities to build the teaching contact and the merits-collection. we could be living with almsfood, but the we are not just beggar.
