Aloha, I have noticed many photographs and images of paintings - TopicsExpress

Aloha, I have noticed many photographs and images of paintings posted that do not identify the source or location of the scene in the photograph or the name of the photographer or the artist who created the painting. Please help the rest of us learn where photos were taken and the name of the photographer and tell us the name of a painting (if it has one) and the name of the artist so that others may learn more about the lava flow pictured, the painting and may find more of the artists and photographers other work. Unfortunately, sometimes people unknowingly post copyright protected work without permission, or deliberately crop out the watermark or signature of a photograph or painting. If you do not post the information as a caption, it doesnt always show when people Share your post. Please make sure its okay to post images by asking the person who created it for permission and add a caption to your post when you upload a file that tells people what your photo is of, when and where it came from (lots of old lava images are posted without any information which has confused people following the current lava flow). If you dont know where something came from, you can do an image search. There are many image search sites and apps that you are free to use, these are two search engines that Ive had a lot of success with: I have found the name of the artist/photographer of many images using https://tineye/ and searching for the oldest record. Google Image Search https://images.google/imghp?hl=en&gws_rd=ssl will sometimes find other records, so sometimes you should try both to confirm any information that you discover. (I dont work for these companies and I am not compensated for these recommendations, in case anybody is wondering.) Mahalo!
