Aloha Kakou, We are very fortunate that our clinic in Pahoa is up and running with only minor intermittent utility interruptions and loss of communications. While it is true that the storm did not cause widespread damage on Hawai`i Island, there is a lot damage in the Puna District where our Pahoa clinic is located. Many families are expected to be without power and utilities for a few more weeks. We want to send a HUGE MAHALO to all of the volunteers that are working hard in Puna to clean up and restore normal life. So many church groups, NGOs, and service men and women can be seen all over Puna clearing debris, opening roads, and delivering help. Please spread the Aloha and help out those less fortunate who have had major losses from this storm. We are very grateful that all of us at Eyeland EyeDoc are OK and able to assist our patients in Pahoa.
