Aloha Shining Lights, The shift in human consciousness towards greater appreciation of our oneness is gaining in momentum, & tremendous change is & will be flowing from this shift . . . at every level of life, from the personal to the political . . . as we each play our own parts in bringing it forth. I am super excited that we who live in District 20 on Oahu (Palolo, Kaimuki, St.Louis Hts, Maunalani & Wilhelmina) have a fabulous woman to vote for & elect to the State House of Representatives: Green Party candidate, Keiko Bonk. She’ll be an amazing leader for empowering our values all throughout Hawai’i. She is experienced & knowledgeable in so many key areas, including making our government more open and transparent, protecting our treasures of nature, & educating our legislators on the greater economic benefits of shifting from centralized large-scale (millionaire-driven) corporate development towards a local community-based sustainable economy. She is smart, humble, and very dedicated: out on the street sign-waving every morning & evening, to gain the 700 more votes she needs to win! Keiko’s opponent, Calvin Say, represents “the 1%.” He’s been in office for a ridiculously-long 38 years & he doesn’t even live in our district :-0 (~Which is a legal requirement ~& I’m a plaintiff on the legal challenge to his candidacy.) Keiko is having an open-house & fundraiser this Saturday (see her invite below). She doesn’t take any corporate money, so it’s up to *us* to help her, & it is a fabulous way to support truly important change. --You can hit the donate button on her website: keikobonk.org/ I LOVE Keiko. And for those who don’t have the spare cash to donate (like me), I’d love you to help us with sign-waving (I totally enjoy radiating love out to everyone!). I’ll be with her most Friday evenings from 5 to 6 on Palolo Ave (~where it meets 6th Ave.) & I can give you the rest of her sign-waving options to join as well (please email or call me: mknaloha@gmail, 372-2082). Elections are an area where I can really see the truth of Edmund Burke’s quote, The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good people to do nothing. It’s time for us to reclaim our power to choose a more prosperous & just future . . . on every level. Mahalo nui loa! me ke aloha nui, Ka’imi Dear Friends: Aloha.
