Aloha! The clouds are breaking up here at Kalapaki and the ocean is pretty flat over here this morning. Nice ad calm on the south and east sides as well but still a large surf on the north and west side. Great day for a round of golf, some snorkeling at Poipu, Lawai, or Sat Pond, or to take a nice hike. Did you know that the surf report also has great information about the hiking trails? Just look at the top of the page under Trails. Here is the ocean report: Northwest swell is forecast to build to the 20-25 range later today into Sunday. Use caution on North & West facing shores. Also, East-exposed areas becoming rougher as tradewinds build to strong levels. Always use caution - esp. when unfamiliar & help is a long way away. Recommended lifeguarded beaches: Poipu, Salt Pond. Lifeguards have closed many North shore spots for swimming. Outlook to Thurs Dec 18: near warning level NW swell late today-Sun. Building choppy East wind-swell.
