Along the lines of my recent posts and commercials for the dangers of eclectic holistic medicine and/or suppressive therapies , compared to the beauty and simplicity of classical homeopathy, a client presented today to the conventional clinic with a 13 year old dog, who had presented to me in November, 2013 for a classical, constitutional homeopathic workup, for minor digestive symptoms, and for chronic cherry eyes, which had been present since a very young age. Although the guardian was informed and educated on how chronic disease works, as well as Herrings law of cure homeopathically, she quickly bailed on homeopathic treatment after a few months, because of some discharges as part of responses to homeopathic remedies, and her complaints of how homeopaths charred for their times. While she continued with more eclectic polyholistic approaches on her own, she suddenly represented to the clinic in mid October, 2014, as FEAR had started to take over and she wanted the cherry eyes fixed(that had been there innocently since a youngster) and wart removals at a local specialist. The eye specialist had started her dog on VERY strong immune suppressive eye drops to STOP and SUPPRESS the chronic eye discharges, in preparation for eye surgery. . Within 2 weeks of starting the drops, blood work had severely declined with severe liver enzyme elevations, that had dramatically increased from values only a few weeks prior. The allopathic fear roller coaster was in full swing, as now she was spending money(she had been reluctant to do for classical homeopathy) on expensive testing and consultations with multiple specialists, with ultrasound showing now signs of chronic liver and kidney disease, as well as enlarged adrenal glands. Still not convinced chronic classical homeopathy was the best route, consultation with an eclectic TCM veterinarian for acupuncture and Chinese herbs Rehmannia and Body Sore were started mid November, however new clinical symptoms of progressive increased thirst/urination over several weeks, along with a 2 pound weight loss, . She presented to me tonight in the traditional veterinary clinic for acute decompensation, etc and was worked up and diagnosed now with Ketoacidotic Diabetes and pancreatitis, and is in the hospital being stabilized on IV fluids, insulin, etc. which will end up costing into the thousands…. As Richard Pitcairn taught me on the progression of chronic disease when treated eclectically in a non curative fashion, one can easily see the long term economic and health care price tags when FEAR takes over and/or quicker symptom relief of chronic disease is desired. For those of you starting out with a constitutional classical homeopath, keep in mind our much fairer charges for our consultation times, case analysis and remedy study/selection, as well as the patience needed when treating animals with chronic disease, being well worth the chronic commitment, especially when seeing case results like this, which can show the sometimes quick and chronic downward spiral, as well as all of the expenses, etc when quicker fix results are desired in delicate and sensitive cases like this.
