Alot of times people take the pastoral mandate because they been in church all their life and it seems like the ideal job for them, some one 1 in their family was a pastor, they want or want to be a status symbol. What ever the reason please under stand that to whom much is giving much is required. You become responsible for others soul. Please while in this position always be readily available to learn new things about your craft. Have an accountability system when you need to talk to some 1 about things that tripp you up. Pastors make mistakes too be open to tell others about your faults or hangups let them know you are human. Be transparent. Never be haughty, arrogant, prideful it put a sour taste in others mouth. Talk to others if you do not understand some thing preferably and Elder board so that you are able to deliver Gods word line upon line precept upon precept. Never Guess at what God is saying or add your twist to it. The bible speaks very clear on that. My point this is not a job to take lightly. When souls are at stake. And just because you grew up in a church does not always mean this is the most suitable job for you js. There is more to this and scripture js
