Alpharetta gets it. Residential development drains the local - TopicsExpress

Alpharetta gets it. Residential development drains the local economy and some in Alpharetta are fighting to protect land that is zoned for office development from being rezoned for residential use. In Paulding we face an opposite problem in that so much land has been developed residentially or is zoned for it as very little attention or thought over the years was given to industrial or office development. As a result, we are now having to make properties located within close proximity of residential neighborhoods work for light industrial and office development. All three uses can be compatible with one another but it takes proper planning and community engagement. Most new viable sites for light industrial or office development are going to have to address this issue and we need the support of Paulding residents to make it happen. In turn, we need to demonstrate to them we understand their concerns and develop solutions that will make it a win-win for everyone. With a current industrial vacancy rate of less than 3% we need to find ways to construct more industrial space in locations that make sense. wsbtv/news/news/local/neighbors-battle-over-proposed-homes-business-land/nc3h7/
