Alphas got a good point; Square Enix doesnt WANT to make a Final Fantasy 7 HD Remake because its their last ditch Hail Mary pass. Think about it; Sega embraced the retro thing with Sonic Generations and ended up selling what, 3 or 4 MILLION copies for all platforms around the world? Thats money in the bank. Square Enix doesnt want to admit their best days may be behind them and theyll never do better than FF7. Its their magnum opus. Its a good thing Bungie disbanded after Halo Reach; its their absolute best game. And it happens, sometimes a company does a damn near perfect game and all attempts to recapture that magic fail or fall short. An HD Remake of FF7 has to be their last ditch Plan Z. When all their Final Fantasy sequels sell terribly and theyre hemorrhaging money, an HD Remade of FF7 would guarantee them money in the bank. Thats why theyre keeping it in reserve. And thats fine, in the meantime gamers will just throw our money at people who ARE making the games we want now.
