Alright folks, lets talk snow. As is the case with every snow - TopicsExpress

Alright folks, lets talk snow. As is the case with every snow maker, this is a very tricky system. Clippers are usually fast and variable, so nailing down exact snow totals in your backyard is fruitless. However, I can give you a general range of snow to expect depending on where you live. Also, FYI, we are not under any watches, warnings or advisories. **AMOUNTS: As you can see in the map below, this clipper is taking a more southerly track, meaning less amounts Kendallville northward. Even so, Im still expecting anywhere from 2-3 of snow by Sunday evening here. Perhaps a bit less close to the Michigan state line. From about Auburn south through Huntington, including Fort Wayne, 2-4 is a good bet, with locally higher amounts of 5-6. Snow will vary in intensity. South of Huntington, 3-5 is a reasonable bet due to the more southerly track, although a period of early rain/snow may limit the amount of snow accumulation for these locations. **TIMING: I expect the bulk of the snow to arrive overnight tonight through Sunday morning between 5 and 7 A.M., starting as a mix of rain/snow Jay county south. Snow should continue, and vary in intensity, all day Sunday, decreasing by the time we meet for 21Alive News at 6 tomorrow evening. **TEMPERATURES: Temperatures will remain pretty steady overnight into the first half of Sunday, mostly between 29 and 32 degrees. Temps will fall throughout the day behind this system, with lows plummeting into the teens overnight Sunday. I expect ice/slick roads Monday morning, so plan accordingly! **WIND: Lets not forget the wind! A northeast breeze will blow between 10 and 20 mph Sunday evening, gusting at times to 30 mph, so blowing/drifting snow is a concern for just about everyone. Any more questions? Ask away! Ill have updates as they come throughout the evening hours.
