Alright, folks, todays the day! People have been asking what they can do to help with the demonstration this afternoon, so here are a few pleas: - If you have any time today and can go down with a shovel to help make clear places to stand where the sidewalks at the intersection are *supposed* to be, please do! Ill be heading over this afternoon and should be there by 1:30 or 2:00 to check it out, but Ill have a toddler on my back so I cant shovel as furiously as Id like. Any assistance is much appreciated! - If you are able to make some extra signs or banners to share, it would be much appreciated! Many people will be walking with kids and wont have extra arms to carry signage from their homes, so if you have the time, some cardboard, and a Sharpie, giver! - It would be great to have lots of photos, so snap away! - Please keep in mind that this is meant to be a PEACEFUL demonstration! I promised the RNC that we wouldnt intentionally block traffic, so please dont get me in trouble! The RNC were extremely sympathetic and supportive when I spoke to them about this event, and I imagine that theyre probably just as frustrated as any of us. - Bring your reflective gear, your friends and loved ones, your voice, and your enthusiasm! St. Johns is a wonderful city, and the capital of a have province. Theres no reason for its residents safety to be compromised 4-5 months out of the year. Let City Hall know that we are committed and engaged, and that we wont be ignored!
