Alright guys, First, an apology. KT was pretty cranky the first half of the day. Mainly because I pulled a Maquis Raider - for the third time! I mean, I love the Maquis. But did my coming so strongly to the defense of the Edman when people attempted to besmirch his legacy, really curse me to now have FOUR Maquis Raiders? Then I had a dismal first match, which I really allowed to get the better of me. So big ups to Rory for getting me through it and being an all around great dude!!! But really, I would like to think nothing could get me ornery on a Redshirt Sunday. So we are off to a bad start for this OPs AAR, I suppose. Liam and Jim are always bringing the positive waves! And Liam bagged a Star Gazer for his trouble. Those guys are the best, man. One-of-Threes OP started much like mine, and his frustration probably even exceeded my own :) But hes One-of-Three and its all good! He managed to turn it around and finish out the day in fine style! Rory was killin it early on, but this OP really had a bag of curve balls that could crack the coolest of game faces.......except Rorys. The man turned Limes into Lenin-ade all day, and went home with a Constellation-class as well as Assimilation Target Prime for an overall 2nd Place finish for the Collective Storyline!! Woot!! Awesome, dude!! Jason really helped KTs day get better, not as much at the games table, but he really got me out of my funk between matches and made the day better for everyone, you know? Totally awesome. And we had an epic match: he brought down the Cube, I brought down the sphere!! I couldnt think of a better result both as a match between good friends and to finish out the afternoon! Honestly, I wish it had been a straight tie, but the loss of Jonathan Archer gave KT the win in that match....by a slim margin. It was so awesome!! Then theres the Butcher of Brattleboro. Bernies Own Enforcer: Mike Cout. What can be said of Mike Cout that hasnt already been said of the firebombing of Dresden? The man is a menace! A sweep today. Thats two sweeps in the Collective Storyline. And a first place finish for the title Champion Standing. And you know? It couldnt be a better dude, man. Mike seemed a bit distant today. Maybe he was too focused? Tired? Perhaps it was KTs rough start to the day? I hope he had a good time! He earned it!!! Awesome, my man!! Big ups!!! So, it was another one of those scenarios where you really felt like you were learning a new game all over again. And like last OP, it wasnt until the final matches that people really came to grips with the OP specific rules enough, to formulate any kind of strategy. Its interesting. And probably by design. I cant even tell if I like it or hate it, really. It is what it is I suppose. As long as I remember the real reason I come out, Ill be OK! And on the up side (theres two sides to every Schwarz): I have a Maquis Fleet!! Four Maquis Raiders led by the intrepid Edman Eddington are coming your way!
