Alright guys, real talk talk. I really wanna have a standard set - TopicsExpress

Alright guys, real talk talk. I really wanna have a standard set of written rules for Project M, just because a lot of people seem to be operating with lots of different rules. So I have a proposition. A.) Gentlemans rule reigns supreme B.) On first match, both players just pick a character, if a problem arises, a double blind pick is always an option. C.) Both players band 1-1-1-1-1-1 until there is only one stage left. D.) The winner picks their character E.) The loser picks their character F.) The winner bans 3 stages out of the bottom 2 rows G.) Apply a variation on Daves Supid Rule (you may not pick ANY stage you have won on previously, whether you chose it or not) H.) The loser picks a stage out of the bottom two rows. Ive talked to MOST people in our scene about these sets, and it seems to be the most agreed upon. The ideas behind this are that on neutral pick, everything is neutral, between both character selection and stages. So on stage bans, the rules we use now, simply are not effective on what they are supposed to accomplish. They are just melee rules, except we have WAY more stages. To apply a little math to this, we figure that there are basically 4 categories of stages, with about 4 in each. Now if we increase the winners bans to 3, that means you can choose between banning a set of stages your character is bad at, or banning stages that your opponent is good at. Having 3 bans means you also cant totally wipe out a set of stages. But Daves supid rule also means that in a set of 2/3 you will have 4 bans, and 3/5 will be 5 bans. I personally vouched for character lock [cause that really makes the most sense to me] but I know people will whine about it. So to alleviate this, winner gets to change his character, but loser still gets counterpick. Another piece is that we decided that character picks, will just take place before stage picking. Because A.) thats how people do it now anyways. and B.) It really streamlines the tournament and makes life easy. PLEASE LET ME KNOW YOUR OPINION. I really do believe this is our best option right now, as i have taken a lot of info in, and this is about our best neutral position on things.
