Alright, here it is: the first Pi acoustic guitar, made by Pat Hawley and Ian Weston. As most of you know, Pat and I combined our experience to build an acoustic guitar. It was a very pleasant experience, and we will start another after the summer. This is a full size Dreadnought with a Sitka spruce top, Indian Rosewood back and sides, Mahogany neck, Ebony fingerboard and bridge. The top is dressed with Herringbone binding and rosette, the frets are Evo alloy, and the body is bound with Flame Maple. The neck is adjustable via a bi-directional truss rod, the nut is made from deer antler, and the saddle from cow bone. The finish is UV cured polyester, which is incredibly resistant, and even laughs in the face of acetone. We built this guitar for volume, and its very loud. A few of you have already laid your hands on it, and will only get better as it gets played. I have compared it to several Martins, and Gibsons that have come through the shop, and it has a lot more volume then these guitars. The bottom end is very present, but also very defined, and the top end is also very loud, without being harsh. This guitar is for sale, and we are asking 3000$. If you are interested in giving it a try, please email me at shop@westoninstruments, and we can arrange a time for you to come to the shop and give it a spin.
