Alright, my tech savvy friends, I have an issue and I need help. Its with iTunes playlists (David Bobdrummer, stop sneering). Im now teaching in the big studio, and their sound system has a plug in for ipods/pads/etc. and a very, very funky CD player. Im used to using an iPod for my music, BUT this stereo doesnt have a remote that will control the iPod - only the CD player (sort of). Given that I have to stop between tracks pretty much every time, with the Gold group (at least for the moment), running across the room to pause play is not really working. iTunes will happily allow me to cross fade songs in playlists, and if I burn a playlist to a CD, let me opt for continuous play, or breaks between songs up to 5 seconds. Not nuts about using the CDs (let along the quirky player) for a lot of reasons. BUT iTunes will not put pauses into playlists either on the desktop or the iPod, at least that I can figure out. I went to the Apple store, where a genius said I could add time to each song - thereby playing dead air where I wanted a gap. Sounded fine, if a little ham handed, but while it is letting me alter the times, it wont save it that way, nor play it that way. If anyone knows how do do this, and can explain it in terms a technophobe such as myself can understand it, I would be very, very grateful.
