Alright, so how about this for a plan: Have a mandatory workshop on how to use a microwave. Each floor gets a meeting on it in the beginning of the year, and international students can get a special one for them in the week they are here before national students. (I know that some countries dont use microwaves that much, so it makes sense for mistakes to happen.) Have to scan your ID to use the microwave. If the fire alarm goes off because of your microwaved food, then you get penalized for it, via a class, and then after the second time, losing the ability to use the microwave that semester. Have a limit on the time the microwaves can run (were a tech school, come on) - they cant run more than 3 minutes, and you can set a cooldown time between people being able to use the microwave again with that ID scanner. (I heard a rumor about microwaves with smoke detectors inside that shut off the microwave. IPRO anyone?) Finally, maybe have microwaves that arent overly super strong. Lets have kiddie, or even normal strength microwaves.
