Alright so now that the lovey dovey marriage stuff is over, We will be back to what Erika and I do best. Two points I want to get across with this video: 1.) Programming should not be so rigid and strict that you can not make suitable changes and adapt when taken out of your element. Case in point being the gym we are training at in Maui. I have been doing a standing version of face pulls for a long time on my program and it turned out that the set up here just would not work for that. I was forced to do a seated version and in doing so, I discovered that doing them this way was actually more effective as I was able to completely remove any momentum and hold myself in a more stable position. 2.) Face pulls done properly should be a staple accessory exercise in any program. Keep the weight lighter and ensure full ROM is being used. Your chest should be kept high and you should not collapse forward as you pull the weight closer. Initiate the movement by pulling through your elbows and squeezing the scapulae together. For anyone with previous shoulder injuries or for anyone looking to maintain good shoulder health, DO THIS EXERCISE!! Neil
