Alright so there has been some hub bub in the last week about people who show up in costumes for conventions are distracting from artists making money. That it has been turned into some kind of social gathering. From Merriam-Webster, convention: a large meeting of people who come to a place for usually several days to talk about their shared work or other interests or to make decisions as a group. Doesnt really say anything about a place to sell or buy stuff. Artists and vendors deserve every opportunity to earn a living, but didnt they see these gatherings as a way of reaching potential customers? Not knocking artists, I wish them all success, but let’s not cause a stink over people are socializing at a gathering that was seen as a business opportunity.
