Alright, so when I told you guys I let my girls watch Food Inc over the weekend I ruffled a few feathers. Some commenters were mainly concerned that the documentary is one-sided. So, maybe you missed it (since not everyone sees all FB posts anymore), but just last week we took our daughters to visit an Organic Valley farm in person. They saw cows grazing on wide open pastures and met the loving farmers who cared for them. They also saw their 300 chickens happily roaming free outside and even collected some fresh eggs themselves. SO - I especially thought watching the film was perfect timing because I kept saying, Do you see the difference in how these animals are treated compared to the farm we just went to? I agree, not all farms are like the ones in Food, Inc., but the reality is - unethical factory farms DO in fact exist. And now my kids understand better than ever why I am so picky about where our meat comes from!
