Alright, this is my last Toronto #MapleLeafs post of the night -- but I am doing it for the benefit of the thousands of BLIND Fans who dont see the obvious -- because trust me, it is obvious! 1) LACK OF LEADERSHIP --- think back to how every (previous) #Leafs Captain stood for something --- Darryl Sittler set records /// Wendel Clark got it done with the stick, and wasnt afraid to drop the mitts /// Doug Gilmour & Mats Sundin put up some serious points, lived for big moments, and got it done. --- Not only does Dion Phaneuf not do any of these things, but his (continued) minuses proves being more a liability than an asset. 2) COACHING --- watching a game, it is embarrassing how far the Leafs are behind others --- lack of any type of system, or team structure --- yes, I am judging this from outside the dressing room, but watching it is painful (and obvious) --- so either there is a lack of process, or the players arent listening --- either way, in that case, Coach has to go. 3) LACK OF WORK ETHIC --- when your stud player returns to camp, and laughs at the fact he only skated / worked out a handful of times --- then shrugs the media off and tells them to relax when his performance (or lack of) is evident (his minus this season is among worst on the team) --- this speaks volumes about the culture and expectations in that organization, where something like that is permitted to happen. *** The only positive so far this season is that I am a HUGE Fan of Brendan Shanahan -- but he is quickly seeing the mess he has walked into -- and as a Winner, hoping he wont stand for it, and will make moves quickly.
