Alright yall. Before I head out to Toys-for-Tots, heres my latest thoughts on the winter wx scenario: High-resolution models are pointing to VERY LIGHT AND SPOTTY wintry mix this afternoon and into this evening. Drier air and warmer roads to start with, both mean this shouldnt be too much of an issue- just watch for slick spots here and there by tomorrow morning (esp. along the Blue Ridge/Alleghany Highlands). No watches, warnings, or advisories are in effect for our area. Just bundle up today, tonight & tomorrow! The winds will keep howling. With a low pressure system riding up the coastline, moisture and cold air will increase heading into Tuesday. Most will still start off with a wintry mix (rain, sleet, some freezing rain) Tuesday AM, which will change over to snow showers late Tuesday and heading into Wednesday. Snow accumulations ARE STILL IFFY- depending on if the low pressure system shifts westward (which could bring a little more). One of our models (pictured) is depicting around an inch or so for western slopes by Wednesday morning. Of course, we could get a little more by Thursday. We will keep you posted! Stay with us.
