Alrighty... Brief description.... After precisely locating the new crossmember (which was trial and error) it was hard tacked in. Then the majority of the front end parts were assembled with wood used for the shocks (to hold lower control arm level). The tires were put back on and the car lowered to the floor to check ride height and front tire position in the wheel well. We NAILED IT! Of course we had to reposition the front fenders to do that. Then - after removing all of the aforementioned parts - the welding commenced. I have seen a few guys weld in my life - but - none as awesome as Charlie. He knows his machine and how to use it. Today he will do the upside down welds and repair a tad of cancer in the old main frame. After final welding - I am not exactly certain which happens next. Either differential build install or engine mock up or possibly front end install to determine inner fender well mods. I will know soon enough. Today will be a short day - ending around 2:30 or so..... As you might imagine - Charlie does have the fiberglass engine block (small block Chevy) and transmission for ease of mock!
