Alrighty...I am awake and waiting for the coffee to brew....oh ya...it was ready and tastes so good. The wise ones remain cuddled on their beds, oh, a heavy sigh and a beautiful black head is resting on outstretched paws. Luna made it known she wanted back in our bedroom so she is now on my bed gazing down at the boys. Have I mentioned lately that life is good.? With this much love in our home..well I could not ask for anything better. Many of your incoming comments cite just how cold it is for many of you as well. This winter certainly is a crazy one, snow and extreme cold in Southern States that normally do not see such weather pattern. Heidi Vion called me last night and said they were getting heavy rains. Record cold everywhere so it seems. Loki was quick to get his walks over with yesterday and made a rush to get back home on his 10 pm walk last night. He was all frosty faced and sat in front of the fire till the chill left him. Then he was off to his window bench to stretch out an experience the great white north from the comfort of inside. He is making no move at all right now to go outside...smart boy!!! Hemi is beside him and Luna is sitting at my feet right now calling for head rubs...yes I do reach down and when I do she talks to me. Discovered that Loki likes cherry pie (I gave him just a tiny piece of crust with filling). He also enjoyed his cookies that mom made for him and the boys, she made 4 dozen yesterday. Yes she is still baking and I am still eating.....my summer clothes are not going to fit me!! Over the lips and onto the hips. Pies, cakes, cookies, squares...yummy!!!! It has been far too cold to remove my gloves to take pics of Loki when we go on our walks, as it is my fingers freeze up in very few minutes even with my big ski gloves on. I wanted to get pics of him climbing the high piles of dumped snow, he looks so majestic up on them. I will take some inside pics soon. I found a site yesterday that shows all kinds of pics of Black Wolves in the wild (White ones too) and my gosh the Black ones look so much like Our Boy. I remain grateful that Loki is low content and chose to join our family. I cannot even begin to imagine mid and high content WDs that wind up in Wolf Sanctuaries because people start off with good intent only to find out that they made a mistake. If Loki had not chosen to socialize while he was living wild, it would have been a lot more difficult for him here and for me. I hear deep breathing...both he and Hemi are in la la land. Spoke too soon, Hemi is now sitting up, Loki is in la la land. I saved some styrafoam packing sheets and will figure out how to attach them to Lokis run, will give him even more insulation. I know he is fine and cozy inside the run already but I am always looking at ways to improve it for him, especially in this extreme cold. Nestled in his deep straw bedding all I can see his the top of his head and ears. I suppose I should get his breakfast ready for when he decides it is time to be brave and head out. More courage than I have....going to post a few of the pics I found on the net yesterday of Black wolves now. They look so much like...it is uncanny. A few of the pics actually look like ones Ive taken of Loki myself but they arent.
