Als report on Canberra Country, Blues and Roots Festival. Please note this is only my views and not that of the whole team. Artist wise it was a great festival...was a pleasure to meet up with and listen to our Spotlight artist JACKIE DEE who entertained the crowd with her great original songs and her tight backing band (not tight as in p****d), a very professional couple of sets. Another artist that was a pleasure to listen to and meet was young 17 year old SAMI, a young lady with a powerful and controlled voice and certainly deserved her song writing awards. MELISSA ROBERTSON another accomplished songwriter who gave a good performance and I am sure won some new friends and followers. It goes without saying that artists like LUKE OSHEA, CARTER & CARTER, COL FINLEY and BROTHERS 3 gave their usual great shows in the freezing Canberra night air. I was very impressed with a few artists that I had not seen before NOEL McCLUMPHA, DALE DUNCAN, GREG BAIN, LONG & SHORT OF IT and GRAZYS COUNTRY (aka Graham Brennan {Grazy} and Amy Chilver {Aymes}). Was very impressed in the Talent Quest with sub-junior LAURA JANE, juniors EMMA and MICHAELA and also in the seniors JOEL. Please check out the photo albums for songwriters and talent quest winners.
