Als thought for today: As Bob Hope might sing, Thanks for the mammories. Let me say at once that I believe that breasts are both practical and ornamental and I therefore would never criticise the aforementioned. Breast feeding is natural, healthy and economically sound and both myself and my brother indulged ourselves. However, being of the old fart generation, I do empathise with Nigel Farages comments that some people are uncomfortable with public breast feeding. Should I be downing a pint in my pub, my enjoyment would be somewhat reduced by a mewling and puking infant greedily doing the same attached to a young woman at a table opposite. Personally, I would be merely bemused but others would be upset and there is no need as a little discretion by a mother might solve all points of view. This may well be a storm in a D cup. However, judging by the fact that Nigels comments that women who leave a specialist field such as the brokerage world he knew, return at a lower salary than their male counterpart may mean that this is constantly brought up. This was of course obvious as if you are in a profession where contacts are of great importance and these lapse, your value in the job market is reduced. In the same way, breast feeding is to be encouraged but honestly, is it really necessary to make some kind of ostentatious point by thrusting your views up everyones nose? It doesnt matter one way or another to me but isnt compromise the way to go?
