Also I know a lot of you folks (including some of our admins) went to MAGFest, how was it? Did you say hi to Alexander Brandon while you were there? I myself wound up going to PAX South, and I would have announced it just in case some of you wanted to meet up, but I found out far too close to the event that I was even attending. Im hoping to have *something* in place soon to where we can actually start meeting each other at various events :o I hope there is some interest in that! Among the top-notch acts that played PAX Souths inauguration were the granddaddies of VGM rock, the minibosses, and the newest (officially) and greatest act to come out of Austin, Tx., The Returners, who I am sure will be returning to PAX after the show-stopping knockout of a show they put on. However, today Im gonna talk about The OneUps, who are both granddaddies of VGM funk/jazz (having been around in some form for well over 10 years) and are ALSO the new kids what with their lineup change and a whole mess of brand new songs. They had a new album I was lucky enough to pick up, and Im gonna ask you to do the same if you want! Its horror-themed, but contains some beautiful jam-tastic funky freshness, and they end it (appropriately at track 13) with the ending song from Splatterhouse.
