Also am a little downhearted to report that the foster I took in last week with kennel cough poppet is in fact in a moderate stage of pneumonia. He has received more antibiotics medications, and I can give him a steam room for 20 minutes twice a day. Shit! I was hoping this little guy would actually be well enough to meet my other dogs and just be out and about, but no, takes a little bit more. When we got home I microwaved a hamburger patty and some egg, mixing it together and giving him about half of a cup. His Majesty ate it all up and I left him with a little touch extra of some egg and cheese. He was incredibly sweet to everybody. He is going to be a very easy adopt for Displaced Petsrescue once he is well and gone to them. Their vet is not like mine, so I did not get a picture of his chest x-ray. Otherwise, there was no problem that we could see in the trachea so it is pneumonia. 😢💔 The fact he is acting much happier and more active generally, gives me hope. But it is from the same shelter where a litter of puppies and mama came from (who are now also down with pneumonia up in Oregon). This might be a related strain and all of them have been to Yorba Lake Pet Clinic as well. Poor babies!
