Also if you get to the point that you actually do have to go to court, If the officer who actually gave you the ticket is not there you have the right to request that charges be dropped as their witness is not in the courtroom. You can also require that the gun used to detect your speed be tested at their expense to make sure it was working correctly or require that they produce its most recent calibration. We can certainly not determine ones guilt or innocence based on faulty equipment.
