Also on Caringbridge.org Dear Friends, How can I ever thank you enough for the prayers, concern, visits, food and love you have showered upon us? It has meant so much to us through this difficult journey. God and you have sustained us. Thank you so much! Last week some difficult news was shared with us by Daniel’s doctors. We have quietly carried the heaviness of this news until we could have a chance to share it with our daughters and our family. I now ask you to carry the burden with me through your prayers. The cancer has grown and spread to where Daniel’s bowel and small intestines are not functional at this time. The doctors have told us that Daniel has weeks to possibly a few months to live. He has chosen to go home from the hospital with the help of Hospice and spend the rest of his days with family. He will be on intravenous pain medication and a stomach suction pump as long as his body can tolerate it. I am so proud of Daniel! He is putting up a courageous fight and wants to leave behind a strong testimony of faith in our Savior. He is not blaming God for the cancer and wants to finish his journey well, leaving behind a legacy of a fighting spirit and strong faith in the Lord. We are going to need your help in this fight. That means we need you to continue to use Ralph Sorter as the Gatekeeper who is helping us regulate your visits. Ralph prefers text messages to his cell phone (707) 592-2896, but if you cannot text him, then he will accept a call. There are times when either medical attention must be without interruption, and times when Daniel is worn out and needs his rest. We will be communicating with Ralph about visitation times. Please keep your visits short so that it does not wear out Daniel and so that others can have an opportunity to visit. You can help us best by using Ralph’s ministry unto us. This is important because it takes stress off of me and allows me to focus on caring for Daniel and our daughters. Here’s how you can pray for us: 1. Pray for Daniel’s spiritual and physical strength to fight the best he can. 2. Pray that the pain medication will continue to be effective. 3. Pray for my strength as his primary caregiver. 4. Pray for our girls. This is very hard on them. 5. Pray that we can move into our own home by the end of the year. Pray for a home adequate for our needs within our budget. 6. Pray for many helping hands when it comes time to prepare for and make the move. 7. Most of all, praise God with us for His enduring love and the sustaining strength He is giving us day-by-day. Thank you so much for your love and prayers. We could not do this without you. Blessings, Ronett
