Altar & Rosary Society: The Deanery I & II meeting will be at St. Monica’s on January 31, 2015. Registration begins at 9am and Mass will be offered at 10am. GET READY, GET SET, GO…and beat Fr. Bob this year. The way you beat him is to purchase Academy Award ballots ($3.00 each) from Altar & Rosary members and guess more winners than he does. We will begin selling ballots this weekend so we end before Lent begins. This has been a lot of fun the past two years. No one has actually beaten him yet but we have come close! Whoever has the most winners, will win $50 and the distinction of being the first to beat Father Bob, or if Father Bob again prevails, the next closest will win the $50.00. We will also be selling raffle tickets ($2.00 each) for the “Oscar Basket” which contains: Theater tickets, a bottle of Wine, wine glasses, Sparkling Juice, popcorn, candy and of course an Oscar statue ($75.00 value). As always, the proceeds go to altar supplies, priest’s vestments, altar cloths and server vestments.
