Although I am not 100% certain what career path I will be pursuing, I do consider medical school to be a likely possibility in my future. Talking to current Cal students and taking advantage of the internets many resources, I am beginning to worry about the apparent grade deflation that occurs. From what I have read, medical schools do not care as much about Berkeleys name as they do about GPAs and MCAT scores. Thus, if I do decide to apply to medical school, this can be a great disadvantage. I know that no matter where I go, I will have to work hard, but in the case of Cal, people who I know have great work ethics and motivation are barely surviving. Basically, I would just like to know more about this grade deflation and if it truly has the potential to hinder my academic plans. Thank you! (:
