Although I understand that the official purpose of Memorial Day is to remember those who lost their lives in military service to our country, I know it is also a time to remember all who are special to us. So I want to take this opportunity to say thank you to each of the 633 families that have stayed with Serenity House Network since we opened September 23, 2008. When we started with one apartment, I had no idea Gods idea of Serenity House Network would be so much bigger than my own. I could never have anticipated the amazing Mayo Clinic patients and families we have had the privilege of providing housing for. But although I could not look ahead, I can look back and remember each family: their struggles, their triumphs, their friendship, their deep love for each other. So I say a special prayer for each of you today, that God would hold you close in His amazing love.
