Although Renner winds me up... Slow down!!! :) Some good points for us old guys... heres my thoughts 1 - I like hearing this. I have never really believed the size doesnt matter concept. Cause it matters... I like the idea of linking 20lbs and 10 years to a belt.... but isnt it all excuses 2 - I accepted this a long time ago, based on the way that Saul Rogers man handles me lol. I sometimes roll based on just seeing what someone will do and how will they attack, with no plan to submit them 3 - Ego is the hard one. I have the internal battle every session about getting worse and more importantly, that I may never get better and achieve the levels required for Purple, Brown and beyond. Sometimes I can accept it, sometimes I am tempted to quit and save myself the pain and stress 4 - The Rollercoaster I have always managed to ride. Always wanted to get back on the mats as quick as possible. Come back as soon as I can from injury and sacrifice a lot to train... hopefully no serious injury makes that harder to do. I have the desire to train for the rest of my life... at the moment 5 - Follow the leader. This is about expectations, isnt it? Maybe we all expect to much? Expect to be able to take the years of experience and apply them regardless of our age, health, etc... or that of our competitor.
