Although Umar can be a little dramatic about the statistics between wealth and race, His Core message highlights that African Americans are Woefully Financially Illiterate and it continues to reflect in their lifestyles and networth...and ultimately community. If generations of white supremacy systems are the catalysts for this, the compounding effect lies in too many of us staying too ignorant about the whole money game. The same thing that seems to be working against us can really work for us with some applied understanding and time. I disagree with his premise that we have to have a fully built out infrastructure to be financially free. We just need enough people that know how to maintain and manage their own assets first and then make alliances with each other on agreed and upheld sound business practices. This is a Bottom up Grassroots thing. Not Top down.
