Although it is not cheaper than bike commuting(if season pass is not purchased), public transportation do help to ease traffic woes in Penang. I have virtually stopped driving(except during client visits and in circumstances where cycling deem dangerous, i.e., heavy rain or I am too tired to ride) on island, and my German horse is collecting cobweb in my office garage. Buses nowadays are very comfortable to ride on(although its punctuality is still much to be desired). If the current State authority wants to further improves this mode of transport, it has my full support(but not the undersea tunnel and adding more roads!). thestar.my/News/Community/2013/09/09/Rapid-Penang-planning-ways-to-expand-service.aspx
