Although our Director of Major Gifts Janet Collins retired recently to relocate to the Boston area, great to hear she will still be a part of the United Way family in a significant way!: United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack Valley Announcement: It is a pleasure to announce that Janet Collins has decided to join us as Senior Major Gifts Officer effective January 20. Janet will be coming on full time and is responsible for directing donor cultivation, education, solicitation, stewardship and prospecting Tocqueville Society Gifts ($10,000+) in support of United Way. As you may know, Janet came aboard in mid-November after 11 Years at United Way of Greater Waterbury (CT) where she was Director of Major Gifts. A heralded leader at United Way, Janet is known for her active citizenship and community involvement in the Greater Waterbury community. Janet initially joined us in November to help cover a departure and hit the ground running. Her work with some of our corporate giving accounts with a focus on individual leadership donors has been a tremendous asset to our corporate team. Her energy, enthusiasm and knowledge of United Way have brought a great deal to the entire Development Team. Janet received her B.A. from Dickinson College. Janet and her husband, Garth, live in Boston with a foot hold in Waterbury and have three grown children. Garth is Senior Vice President, Senior Credit Officer for Peoples United Bank. In her spare time, Janet plays team tennis for Boston Athletic Club and is an avid paddleboard and yoga enthusiast. When not entertaining family and friends, Janet enjoys travel, movies and reading a great book. Please join us in congratulating Janet!
