Although the northern lights did not make it into Northern Utah, the Milky Way was visible. It was damn beautiful. It was pleasant to just follow the Little Dipper north through the Salt Flats and simply enjoy the stars, moonlight, and scintillating salt crystals. For a few hours, I was able to completely clear my mind of academics, past successes and setbacks, future hopes and dreams. I feel just as purified by the salt as I did by the Rio Grande when I swam in it last summer. All is damnedly, perfectly well.
