Although the share and overall ratings are down this spring compared to the last couple of years (I think last year will be the peak year regardless), it is quite remarkable to see the show hold its own despite the different changes this late into a series. Mark Harmon, Michael Weatherly, Pauley Perrette and David McCallum were the original cast of NCIS, and see them together over the past eleven seasons has been great. I wasnt a Cote fan in the early years, but grew to like her in the later ones. As for Bishop, peoples comments about her remind me about how teachers fair in a new school during the first year...plenty of negative comments and finding ways to find fault with her character/performance. Believe me, I had my hands full last year trying to adjust to a new school environment, and mistakes are often made when trying to strike the right tone. This year, things are much easier once I figured out the schools culture (Ive been a teacher for thirteen years). I would cut Bishops character some slack this year...next year will be a better season to judge the pros/cons of her on the show after the writers have had a summer to make the right adjustments after this years feedback.
