Although there’s still a couple weeks until the due date, we thought it’d be fun to share the name we landed on for our upcoming boy. His name will be… PERCY WILDER. WHY PERCY? A few reasons: 1) When Maggie was two, she had an imaginary friend she played with all the time. That friend was a boy. She called that boy Percy, but she also said that boy was her brother. So in a way, Magnolia was the one who first decided on his name. 2) Percy literally means “Pierces the Valley”. When it comes to valleys, we’re obviously in the longest one of our lives. But we also feel like God is giving us strength and new life in the midst of it. Our baby boy pretty much embodies that reality. 3) Percy has a symbol. If you didn’t noticed, all our kids have a symbol. Paisley has a pattern. Magnolia is a flower. Percy… is an arrow. Why is this important? My wife needs something to tattoo on herself. ☺ WHY WILDER? 1) After two sweet girls, we’re ready to embrace the crazy-wild that is known as pure boy. So bring on the dirt, the injuries, and the noise! 2) We love where we live, and the name Wilder seems to capture the area well… the beautifully wild northwest. 3) I personally love the book Wild at Heart, and we pray our boy grows to be a man who is wild after the heart of Jesus. There you have it, the reasons we went with Percy Wilder. Those reasons are special to us so we thought we’d share them with you. And again… THANK YOU for all your continued prayers and support. We feel so blessed in the midst of this valley.
