Although things arent just as I planned, today is a special day. Tonight my son starts his final chapter of his high school football career. 11 years and thousands of hours of practice. I knew this was coming. I often observed other parents whose kids were seniors and thought how bitter sweet that must be. Now, its my turn. Each game will be a last of something. Last time playing at thus stadium or that stadium. Last time playing this team or that team. Last away game. Last home game. And finally, the last game. The final sentence in what has been a wild ride. From the 3 TD comeback in the 4th quarter against Green in the youth football semi finals to the heart breaking playoff loss to Kenston to the last second win in the finale against Green last year, Ive been there for them all. As I wake up this morning, I am both happy and very sad to begin/end this journey. I wish that some things were different, but thats another story for another day. Today I want to enjoy the thought of Logan and his 22 fellow seniors walking down the hall with their jerseys on, getting on that bus tonight to head to Ravenna, and beginning what will surely be some of the best memories of these young mens lives. And I will be there with a big smile in my face through it all.
