Although this is very hard to read much less photograph...it is from the probast marshalls office to my great grandfather he has been drafted into the service of United States and to report 10th day of Oct 1864. Failure would mean he would be a deserter and be subject to a penalty prescribed by the rules and articles of war. I was wondering if that last sentence was still used when they were still drafting???
