Although we WIN and LOSE as a team, MANCHESTER UNITED must work - TopicsExpress

Although we WIN and LOSE as a team, MANCHESTER UNITED must work its way back to the top two in the remaining games of the season. I do contend that if LVG can avoid sitting all through the game-time, some of these unnecessary draws and loses will be avoided. I have always thought as I still do that there are some mistakes which ought to be corrected instantly rather than waiting for half time and at the end of the game to speak to the players or contest a decision. I also believe that the managers dynamic reactions/responses during the game, is capable of winning a team at minimum of 25 points. All successful managers of in the EPL including the Sir Alex Ferguson the Greatest or bit Jose Mourinho ran up and down instructing players and challenging unwarranted decisions even if it meant getting suspended or fined, such inhibition could not stand in their way. Basing on that I get totally disturbed seeing LVG busy seated all the time documenting a lot of things some of which can be handled straight away during the game. With his wealthy of experience, I do expect him, to be more practical and swift in reacting to challenges as per the demands of the EPL. To the contrary he prefers the opposite. Besides, in the last game against Southampton, it’s evident he made a lot of gambling in assembling the team; for instance he should have maintained RVP upfront as a lone striker, with DM7 operating on the right flank, curving in steadily at the edge of the box to allow Antonio Valencia a full operational space to square in a more less traditional way manner Garry Neville used to do. In that context, DM7 with his speed and ability would have been more creative in DB7 style by moving RVP to good scoring positions, and releasing the ball at very opportune moments. However, I noticed the reverse in the game plan/approach, and as it would transpire both RVP and DM7 became could not function, forcing LVG to withdraw them prematurely. Had LVG noticed his own mistake, he would have done an immediate On-pitch switch between RVP and DM7 in the first quarter of the game, before the former could get injured. DM7, by all standards is capable of fitting perfectly well in the giant shoes of DB7 which has been vacant even during CR7’s time at OT. To make matters worse, he decided to remove Shaw who had tightened the left flank with his offensive driving attacks that had compressed the opponents against their own wall. Replacing him with Blacket, would have been good only if it was aimed at hoodwinking the opponents to open up, but at the same time, the approach in attack should have changed and concentrated on the right flank through Valencia to DM7 with Rooney upfront. Blacket should have as well as operated at the left centre-half since he is prone to leakages as seen from his own vivid failure to sweep away the lone rebounder which sealed United’s fate in that cold evening. I still hold that Blacket is not yet agile enough to deal with the marauding attacks of any serious side let alone So’ton’s young and ambitious boys. He still needs more time and less competitive games to develop fully– the more reason why United must find itself in all competitions in the coming season. Besides, Tactically, LVG should find ways of equipping players to create and exploit dead ball situations. There is no point of having only physically strong players who cannot create a variety of chances. Previously, when the opponent wasnt opening up, Sir Alex Ferguson would quickly deploy a very light, swift and tactical player in the box who would hold the ball without rushing, by so doing anything could happen in a matter of seconds even if it was in the dying minutes of the game. Such players included David Beckham, Giggs, Ronaldo, Ashley Young, Ruud Van Nistroy, Ole Gunner, Andy Cole and Dwight York. They would torment the opponent, and make him look stupid in the last minutes even when it all seemed like it was a point of no return. Apparently, there is no doubt that United has some of the best and finest strikers in the World, but a proper person to link them is missing in action, and consequently, they are over struggling, and getting injured unnecessarily. It will be recalled that around 2006/7 Sir Alex Ferguson, realized that Rooney and Ronald were very good strikers, but there was no one to link them to execute the mission with precision, he therefore crafted in Henerick Larson for a very short-while to specifically cover that gap, and it worked perfectly well even after his departure, hence the amassing of silverware up to the much covet Champions league trophy. In that respect, I do observe that at the beginning of the season Falcao, was operating well with DM7, but somehow that formation has been distorted for no good reason. I should, therefore, think that LVG is suffering from a selection headache and the self-ego of not wanting to be seen as an amateur pacing up and down at the touchline. Appearing at the touchline to correct obvious mistakes instantly is far much better than shelving them for the dressing room, and doing so does not take away any manger’s pride. In fact it only spices up the game as fans see managers coming face to face like Wenger and Mourinho. It is one way a manager through which a manager can afford or force win. Over the weekend, Allan Pardew, did it, and Crystal Palace made their home fans happy as compared to the misery which is recurring at Old Trafford. Therefore, if we are not careful, the same Moyes results may resurface, and yet the club has spent heavily on buying players. I should think that this is the right time for the Board to keep LVG on his toes by demanding for results and nothing else. In modern football, a competent team can only be built when victory is frequently registered. An example is Mannuel Pelligrin of City, he started with a hit straight away, and the club is attracting each and every player, the latest being Bon Winfred, the Ivorian who is set join a record fee of 42 million pounds, making him the most expensive African player ever in the transfer market. Notwithstanding, the fact that LVG is a great Manager who has won important silverware with a number of clubs in Europe, suffice to note, all that is outside the EPL. The EPL is not an easy adventure; in fact it has failed a number of very seasoned and accomplished mangers like Luiz Filip Scolari, Roberto Mancin, Raphael Benetz and Carlos Anclote (the current manager of Real Madrid). In that regard, LVG should avoid making hard and fast principles of avoiding the touchline before the team can stabilizes in the aftermath of David Moyes who ruined everything from day one. In addition, LVG shouldn’t take the demands of the English League very lightly, if at all he wishes to add any more trophies to his hitherto good CV. He can only continue sitting and sleeping on his job, but sooner than later, the Board may demand for accountability when it is too late for him to change anything. Am sure, he can benefit a lot from Sir Alex Ferguson if he chooses to approach him for guidance and tips of winning silverware in the EPL. It does no harm to consult if one wants to become great, and let me hope he will do it in time for the betterment of the team. If he doesn’t do it, we may have to wait a little longer for another season as he continues with the gambling in choosing players without looking at their partnering abilities. For instance, Herera and Mata are two very perfect partners who can move the ball to the strikers or the wings with ease, but it was not a surprise to see former falling on the sledge gambling hummer of LVG. Defensively and creatively, Fellaini should have started the game, basing on his past performance before he got ill, but was not the case. In simple terms- LVG should now put down his feet and come up with a formidable eleven, otherwise tinkering and gambling is becoming too much, and will take us nowhere. In a nut-shell, it is a high time LVG handled some issues instantly on the pitch other than waiting for the dressing room moment/press time to blame the players left and right. It is important to make notes, but on spot implementation is capable of bringing good result even in the most difficult times. That said, my other one humble request is that he should try as much as possible to find immediate solutions at the Centre back. DM7 should handed BD7 role rather than mixing him up with aspects of a lone striker. May God Bless Manchester United!
