Although we cut most of my pelage quite short just a coupla days ago, including my pony-tail, the residual stuff has been shedding profusely and showing up as hair-bunnies in all kinda weird places, so today we went for a bigger coiffe. Our buddie, hairstylist Chris Cromwell, shaped me a lot shorter, although not quite to baldness, as he thought that I should stage the peeling of my tresses over the next few weeks. Style me he did, and we had some laughs about it. You can see the results in the images. The first one shows what I looked like this summer, in a photo taken by Michelle Valberg at Francois in southern Newfoundland. The second image shows me just before todays haircut, and the third one just afterward. Quite an aesthetic transition, eh? Although I have rarely worn a hat during the winter, except when outside for a long time doing fieldwork or birding in cold weather, this year I will surely be donning a touque on a regular basis. Perhaps more important than the loss of my head-hair are my profound fears for the future of my …. of my … moustache … it is not shedding yet, but will it?
