Although we dont have the problem often, look at this photo, which one makes the glass easier to ID? Same glass same place, taken with the same point and shoot camera that cost less than $50 new. No flash. In a hall way with just an overhead light. Manual focus for the good one, auto focus for the other. One tightly cropped and using a photo program I adjusted brightness and contrast. Both photos are 8 inches wide. Both photos used a tripod (but a pile of books would work). Both had the same backdrop of a piece of black poster board (dark blue would work better and fool the cameras need to adjust to gray rather than black). In this case the whole photo is 90kB. I usually prefer them to be in the 300-600 kB range.
