Altogether, 8 different traction companies supplied passenger and freight service between Cincinnati and Dayton during the years 1897-1939. It was in July of 1897 that electric interurban street cars of the Cincinnati & Miami Valley Traction Company began to run between the 2 cities. Most of the daily runs were made up in Trenton due to the fact that the car barn and repair shop was located there. Current to operate the cars was originally furnished by several steam-generating stations along the companys right of way. Busenbark was the site of one of these 550 volt DC (direct current) stations. It measure 50 x 80 and was located close to what is now the Humane Ass. of Miami Valley.
