Alumni Relations/Communications/Marketing Internship Internship opportunity available for a student (or students) interested in working in the non-profit and/or education sectors in the fields of marketing, communications and customer relations. Sewickley Academy, a Pre-K through grade 12 independent day school, is seeking a highly motivated undergraduate or graduate student for an internship in the Advancement department which oversees all marketing, alumni relations and fundraising for the school. Sewickley Academy will work with any candidate who wishes to earn college credit for this internship. The ideal candidate will have an interest in gaining practical experience in fundraising, marketing, communications, event-planning, and community relations and engagement. Specific projects/duties include, but are not limited to, the following: • Assist with alumni engagement data analysis project • Assist with the development of a measurable alumni engagement indexing system using the newly catalogued data • Assist with the planning of the annual all-alumni reunion weekend including securing vendors, planning activities and events, event promotion, etc. • Help with class notes and alumni magazine content development • Assist with creation of fundraising strategy and related marketing materials for Academy alumni • Assist with the development and migration of web content to new website provider • Assist with creation of content for social media platforms • Assist with the review of our multimedia holdings • Participate in regular staff meetings and the life of the department The ideal candidate will have interest and/or experience in the above-mentioned areas, excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and common social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, etc., lots of energy, a sense of humor, and a desire to learn. Candidates should be willing and able to work independently and as part of a team, handle confidential information with discretion, and be willing to work flexibly amongst a fast-paced team. This internship is unpaid, however, can be structured to earn college credit. Hours are flexible.
