Alvin Stardust 27 September 1942 - 23 October 2014 Alvin who we remember also as Shane Fenton was one of musics true poster boys for fifty plus years his favoured leather gear was not just for show being a keen bike fan many girls (and guys) walls would have a poster of Alvin astride the coolest two wheeler you could lay eyes upon. Instantly recogniseable in his trademark stance with microphone high n horizontal and a twinkle in his eyes he had the girls in the audience screaming and occasionally throwing undies on stage. He was also a regular on the covers of the teen magazines and featured in the centre foldout so many times there was a rumour that he had a staple in his midsection. Alvin had just recorded a new album his first in thirty years which is due for release at the end of the month we are doubly sad that he will not see his work hit the record shops. DW.
