Always do your best to listen to what your spouse is trying to say. You may not fully understand it, you may not immediately agree with it, but it was important enough for them to say it (especially if its been said more than once) it may be reasonably important to them. And never criticize and put your spouse down because their ideas may differ from yours... They have an opinion too. Your words contain the power of either life of death. They can cut deeply. Catch the little foxes that spoil the vine. Dont let resentment get its foot in the door. Resentment breeds anger... When anger comes into the mix, it brings strife, and strife is an evil spirit. When the demon of strife shows up it brings more evil buddies, self seeking, confusion and every evil thing are there (James 3:15,16). Dont allow devils into your home! Your relationship will slowly deteriorate. Do it Gods way! Look at what the next two verses say... But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. Now the fruit of righteousness is down in peace by those who make peace. James 3:17,18
