Always seemed like the biggest difference in the old days between guys from the east and guys from the west was the importance of how fast you got up the mountain. When Killer was new,it was a pain to have a nice looking truck with 1150 cubes and no power. All of my friends would gunnysack the heck out of me. I mean, let me stick my neck out up hill, then cut my head off. I finally got tired of that warranty crap and turned it up. Alot of good that did. I started blowing head gaskets. Spent more time at Framptons yard than I did anywhere. Letting Dave put gaskets in for me. Then Jim Prewett and I and about 6 ozs in 45 days at his house in Downey, Ca. made a baby into a hoss. I like going up mountains loaded faster than empty trucks. Thats my gig. When you can start around the curve at the bottom of Indio Hill at 90, and top it at 85 weighing 81,000. Get out at the rest area at the top, and see all the balls of rubber off the tops of your brand new Michelin drivers. And never slip or smoke the rag clutch. Thats what Im talkin about..
